Aluminum Bracket Sign & Vinyl Lettering

Here is the artwork for one of the signs that we have been working on for a brand new yoga studio at The Shops at Watters Creek in the Allen area, Allen Yoga Center.

The router-cut aluminum background. Signs Now Dallas has the in-house capability to route out aluminum or acrylic sheets up to 6' x 12' without a seam in it.

The finished product after the install.

The vinyl lettering on the entrance door. Thank you Allen Yoga Center! It was a pleasure doing business with you!

Our own wrap

Seeing more progress in the transition from Impressive Signs & Graphics to Signs Now Dallas. This week, we have begun re-wrapping our own vehicles with the new business logos. First project, the Toyota Scion, often used to pick up and deliver materials. So far, the hood is done and looks magnificent!

Sorry for the smaller photos, but this is what the Scion looked like with the former wrap.

And here it is after the wrap is removed. Can't wait to see it with the new Signs Now Dallas vehicle wrap! We will keep you posted on the progress!

Almost there!

It's A Wrap!

Wraps, also known as "skins," are a project that we see most commonly on vehicles, primarily pickups, delivery vans, and box trucks, etc. Here is a wrap that we are finishing up for ProStar Services, Inc., a privately owned Office Coffee Service company based in Carrollton, Texas. If you visit their web site, you will see several pictures of their wrapped vehicles!

Sometimes, we wrap other things...like this front counter at a Little Caesars Pizza store.

Here is a lemonade stand that was wrapped for a vendor at the state fair of Texas.
Here is another state fair vendor stand. The official "before" photo.

Almost finished, but what a difference already!

Busy, busy...lots of projects for Thursday!

With all of the rain that we have had lately, our fabricators have managed to get through many truck wraps for the week. Wrapping is a very tedious process and takes a lot of patience even when it is not raining. Here they are finishing up one of the box trucks for all-Tex plumbing. This one of two that they did for this company just this week.

Other the other side of the building, the aluminum craftsmen have been busy working on a channel letter sign for a retail store called Ultimate Sports Nutrition. We have done another outdoor sign for one of their other locations.

Another part of the sign.

Here is what it should look like when they are all finished!

Rainy Day Fun

If you look real close, at the top front of the truck or on the side, you will see the words, "Got Water?" We've got plenty in Dallas over the past few weeks with over 8 inches of rain. While we need the rain, it does make projects like wrapping oversize trucks more difficult and timely. This project is about halfway there! Rain, rain go away!

Here is a custom indoor sign that is just getting ready to ship out. The neat part about this sign is the customization of the "C" logo, which happens to be cut aluminum. Signs Now Dallas handles many out-of-state customers as our prices are competitive and we ship nationwide!

A Hand Painted Sign

The Signs Now Dallas crew has been super busy this week. Here is just one of the projects that they are working on, and it's unique...a hand painted sign.

You don't see these too often anymore because computers can do the work in less than half the time, however a hand painted sign can be a great way to convey a special message or in the case for this customer...provide the perfect authentic look for a store that will carry vintage finds!

When needing a sign for a brick building, stucco walls, canopies, or the roof of a building, a hand painting can be the best option.

Here is the artist, Michael Benn, outlining the letters to give them more dimension.

Almost finished!

Thinking Outside The Box...With Signs!

Last year, Mayor Dave Heilmann of Oak Lawn, Illinois, added humorous signs to the city’s stop signs in attempt to cut down on speeding through stop signs in September. Slogans were added 50 various stop signs throughout the community, such as "and smell the roses" and "means that you aren't moving." Evidently, the Illinois Department of Transportation did not share in the amusement and ordered the mayor to take the signs down.

"I thought that was a very harsh response to an effort to promote safety," Heilmann said. "I truly believe the signs were making an impact. They were around schools and heavily trafficked areas. The community loved them, and we heard from all over the country about how thinking outside the box was a good way to reinforce the message that people need to stop."

A great example of how signs can be effective. What do you think? Would you be more conscientious if you saw a sign like this?

DFW Founder's Plaza Monument Sign

Over the years, Founders' Plaza at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport has become a favorite spot for families, aviation enthusiasts and Airport employees. The Observation Area offers magnificent views of many types of aircraft as they take off and land. In addition, the plaza provides convenient parking, picnic tables, telescopes, historic information, radio that broadcasts air traffic control communications from the FAA tower, and a a commemorative monument that was manufactured by our sign business...now known as Signs Now Dallas!

If you ever get the opportunity to go, it is great for a picnic, either in the grass or on the tables, they have free telescopes to watch the airport traffic.

One of the coolest parts of Founders Plaza has to be the speakers playing the real-time Air Traffic talk between the planes and the ATC Tower. It's awesome seeing a plane approaching in the distance and to hear the pilot radioing into the control tower. Did you know DFW is the only airport with 3 air traffic control towers? Me neither!

It's a pretty gorgeous view of the airport. This is definitely the kind of place to take the kids. It makes for a really neat experience.

Here are the guys constructing the granite monument sign at Founder's Plaza.

Certain dimensions and features of this monument have been established to represent significant facts about the Airport. The panels are symbolic of the Airport’s general layout.

1. The four panels represent the Airport's four original passanger terminals.

2. The 35" wide side panels represent 35 miles between Dallas and Fort Worth. The Airport's seal in the center symbolizes the Airport's central location.

3. The four center panels are bound on the top and bottom by horizontal bands symbolizing the Airport’s physical relationship between Highway 114 and 183 respectively.

4. The total height of the center panel is 8.11' representing the 8.11 mile length of the Airport’s property.

5. The overall thickness of the monument is 17.638" representing the 17,638 acres originally contained within Airport property.

The granite monument located in Founders' Plaza was funded by generous donations from the Friends of DFW, various civic leaders and community members.

Vehicle Wraps - A High Impact Cost Effective Solution For Your Business!

Today's consumers are always on the go. In fact, 96% of Americans travel in a vehicle every week. They don't have time to watch television or read the newspaper, so how do you reach them? Studies have shown that vehicle wraps are highly successful and cost effective, they reach people on the go, in every tax bracket.

Our vehicle wraps are most commonly done in a secondary layout, "the background", that looks great, attracts attention, and uses fade away photos that will initially draw attention to your vehicle. Next, we will overlay this with a primary copy instantaneously by using 3-dimensional techniques over the background design, causing the subconscious mind to not only see, but retain the information.

Using HD Mimaki printers, we offer our customers the best in HD printing, with the brightest, most real life colors in the industry today. Lamination is a fundamental part of the vehicle wrap process. We use 3M gloss lamination over 3M wrap vinyl. The over laminate adds a sheen to the final prints giving it the look of a painted job.

Wraps without lamination several challenges. Vinyl that is not laminated is not protected from the elements, chemicals, or abrasion. Also, depending on the type of ink used, the prints may fade extremely fast.

Wraps with a premium grade laminate offer chemical resistance. They resist gasoline spills or other cleaning liquids. When shopping to price your vehicle wrap, be sure to also look for prices to unwrap your vehicle. Wraps with vinyl that were not laminated are very difficult to remove and become expensive at removal when charged by the hour.

Vehicle preparation is a very crucial stage for a successful stage for proper vehicle wrap installation. We take careful steps to make sure that your vehicle wraps will adhere properly for years to come.
